2026 Fish Sale

Allen SWCD is conducting its annual sale of fingerling sized fish for stocking ponds. Aside from fishing, stocking a pond is a good management practice for ensuring a healthy food chain between the plants, fish, and other life in the pond. We are offering nine species of fish this year. Details on each are provided on the back side of this form.

Fish Delivery
Fish will be delivered in water-filled packages. There is no need to bring your own container or water. All fish are live and must be picked up in person. Plan on transporting your fish directly to the pond without delay.

DEADLINE for ordering fish: Wednesday, April 22. 2026
PICKUP: Wednesay, April 29, 2026 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the Allen Soil & Water Conservation District offices located at 1870 Slabtown Road, Lima, Ohio 45804.

Online ordering is through PayPal. You may pay with a credit card through PayPal even if you do not have a PayPal account. There is a 4% service fee for ordering online.

  • Tilapia

    $84.00
    Tilapia provide a natural way to keep ponds clean by eating algae that amur don’t prefer. Tilapia are tropical and will not survive the winter so they should be fished out in Sept./Oct. Tilapi are a delicious, mild tasting fish. 4 pounds of 5"-10" tilapia are $84.00
  • Koi

    Japanese Koi is a domesticated version of common carp. These fish come in many different colors and varieties and are a great addition to your backyard pond. 1 6"-9" koi is $35.00
  • Black Fathead Minnows are small fish that swim in schools and are used as feeder fish. We recommend 1,000 per surface acre to allow for breeding. 500 1"-3" black fathead minnows are $50.00
  • White Amur usually live 10 to 15 years and can grow to 100 pounds. White amur feed on leafy, rooted aquatic plants, such as pondweed and coontail. Lacking these, they will consume floating duckweed, green algae and even cattails. 2 8"-12" white amurs are $41.00

    Largemouth Bass

    Price range: $50.00 through $64.00
    Largemouth Bass are the number one predator in ponds. They begin spawning about the age of three when they are 10”-12” long. Adults’ diets consist of insects, crawfish and small fish (bluegill and small largemouth bass).     Jumbo Yellow Perch

    Price range: $43.00 through $54.00
    Perch prey upon aquatic insects, invertebrates, a wide variety of fishes, and on the eggs of other fish species. Adults average between 7-12” and weigh between 4 ounces and 1 pound. 20 4"-6" yellow perch are $54.00 10 6"-8" yellow perch are $49.00 5 8"-10" yellow perch are $43.00
  • Channel Catfish are mostly bottom feeders, preferring live or dead insects, crayfish and, occasionally, aquatic plants. Catfish have a tendency to stir up the bottoms of shallow ponds and cause the water to become muddy. Their average adult size is 14”-16”. 25 4"-6" channel catfish are $34.00
  • Black Crappie are part of the sunfish family. They spawn in late spring, and primarily feed on insects and smaller fish. They are best caught in the colder months and are a favorite of ice fishermen. They can grow to eleven or twelve inches. 25 2"-4" black crappie are $51.00

    Redear Shellcracker

    Redear Shellcracker thrives in clear, warm impoundments with rooted vegetation. They are attracted to submerged vegetation and trees.     Hybrid Bluegill

    Hybrid Bluegill are a cross between a male bluegill and female green sunfish. This cross produces a fish with the large mouth of the sunfish and the aggressiveness of the bluegill.     Bluegill

    Bluegill are popular food for largemouth bass as well as humans. Young bluegills feed on tiny microscopic plants and animals. Adults feed on insects, snails, small crayfish and fish eggs.
